While both of these fraternal twins exhibit schizophrenic behaviors, the contributing factors leading to illness where quite different for each mouse.

Mouse E grew up in an adoptive household, in a calm and nurturing environment, but inherited a genetic predisposition for schizophrenia. Mouse F did not inherit a genetic predisposition, but was raised by its emotionally troubled, natural parents, in a chaotic and non-supportive household. There is no apparent relief or cure for either mouse.
