Hereditary Allegories : A Study in Genetics

C & D : Class Rule

These identical twins were separated at an early age. Mouse C remained in the care of its working class family, while Mouse D, being an extra burden, was sent to live with aristocratic relatives living in another hemisphere.

Catching up with the twins in their adulthood, researchers expected to find some telltale parallels that would reveal their relatedness. However, this study belies the often-observed similarities of character and emotion among twins. While researchers worked diligently to uncover some common thread preserved by genetics, these two mice, living in disparate situations, appear to have absolutely nothing in common.
