Hereditary Allegories : A Study in Genetics

I & J : Separated At Birth

Born of the same parents, in the same litter, Mouse I grew up in his native countryside of bucolic farmland. Mouse J was accidentally transported just after birth to an urban environment. When both mice were adults, and had developed lives and homes of their own, researchers contacted them to see what sort of similarities might have persisted, despite such diverse surroundings. These similarities might be attributed to genes.

While a few nominal interests, habits and predilections appeared to be shared by I and J, such as eating popcorn regularly, researchers were shocked to find that each had planted an oak tree in their yard, where they liked to sit. Around each tree, they had each constructed identical wooden benches, both circular and painted white. The meaning of this phenomenon remains unclear.
