MANIFESTO: Nothing's Perfect; Nobody Cares.
For those of you who have been tuning into this rag since it's inception during the Summer of 1993, I have eliminated some sections this time out----You Speak/Letters, Un-Personals/Un-Classifieds, Local Banditis/Local Band Shows, and Effluvia. So what, anyway, huh?
Unfortunately, I didn't have the guts or gusto to compile enough info. to continue these sections. Nor do I have the pocketbook to manufacture this rag on paper anymore; call it what you will...old-lady-itis. And, I want to fill the hole I've burned in my pocket over the years; essentially, I aim to break-even. Therefore, I will be focusing on releasing music by credible artists who I have come in contact with over the past 4 years who are more deserving of the attention anyway. Will I ever break even? Maybe. Maybe not. [FYI: TB001.01 Curtis Bay Genuine Low is scheduled for release on 31 October 1997.] This is all a hobby, afterall. Nothing's perfect. I doubt you care.
Just the same, the meat of this rag has always been about the music, and there are plenty of reviews to be had this time out, as well. For those of you who are first-timers, I just want you to know that ALTHOUGH WE MAY REVIEW MUSIC FROM 'MAJOR LABELS' AND THEIR SUBSIDIARIES, WE TYPICALLY ONLY REVIEW ARTISTS WHO FIT THE DEFINITION OF OUR MANIFESTO, OR WHO ARE GENERALLY LACKING PUBLICITY/WELL-DESERVED RECOGNITION.
In any event, if you dig slices of trees, I do, still have printed issues of all of the TOT's 1-6...so, if you're interested in obtaining one of these Back-issues, I'd be more than happy to slam a single Back-issue [See backissues.htm], or whatever denomination thereof your way. Please send me a SASE for an issue. If you require more than one back-issue, please send an additional 32¢ stamp for each additional copy. Thanks butt-loads!
